When you try your receptionist from Call Studio, it reads its answers back to you in the SIMCOAI voice. That voice has been unavailable since 7 August: the monthly allowance behind it had been used up, so replies came back as text with your browser’s own voice reading them instead. Real phone calls were never affected by this — callers ringing your number heard the normal voice throughout, and still do.
Two things have changed. The spoken preview now uses a faster voice engine that costs half as much for the same words, so the same monthly allowance is worth roughly twice as much speech as it was. And the allowance is now paced, so it cannot be spent all at once: there is a daily ceiling, and a reserve that is kept back for your own Call Studio rather than being available to the public demo on our website. Whoever is paying gets the voice last.
Spoken previews you have already heard are also kept for far longer, so repeating the same test costs nothing at all.
The allowance refreshes on 21 August and the SIMCOAI voice returns then. Until it does, Call Studio still answers every question in full — it is the voice reading the answer that differs, not the answer.
