What changed
This release updates both sides of a spoken conversation: the voice that reads the reply and the speech recognition that turns the caller’s words into usable information. These are separate choices from the AI model that decides what to say.
Vox Clara 1.5 focuses on responsive everyday speech. Vox Magna 1.5 offers richer narration and greetings on Pro or with SIMCOAI Voices. Auditus 1.5 covers live and recorded speech, with choices suited to conversation or details such as names and reference numbers.
Before and after
Before this update: Existing lines used their supported version-1 voice configurations. Speech generation and recognition were already separate parts of the call setup.
With this update: Browser demos and compatible live lines can use the 1.5 generation. Prices are spoken as pounds and pence, and pronunciation has been adjusted for SIMCOAI and common service words. Lines that need an upgrade retain their compatible voice.
What it means for you
Check the supported options in Call Studio and preview the voices available to your account. Think about everyday dialogue as well as your opening greeting: clarity, pauses and pronunciation all affect how a caller experiences the conversation.
An engine version is different from a speaking voice such as Alice or Daniel. Changes apply to new calls, and the options shown depend on your plan and call setup. This announcement does not mean every existing line has already moved to 1.5.
