Signing in with your email address now needs your password

We have withdrawn the emailed sign-in code. It let anyone who could read your inbox sign in without ever knowing your password — and a password reset arrives in that same inbox, so two things that were supposed to be independent were really one. It is switched off in the dashboard, removed from the sign-in page, and closed at the sign-in service itself, so it cannot be reached by any route.

What you use instead: your email address and password, a passkey, or a security key. Passkeys and security keys are the only things that can sign you in without a password, because they never leave your device and cannot be phished or copied out of an inbox. Signing in with Google is unchanged.

If you were relying on the emailed code and do not remember your password, use the reset link on the sign-in page — it still works exactly as before. Go to sign in
