Your account being suspended, a payment failing, or your free trial ending can now reach you by text, not just email. It's optional and off by default — verify a phone number on the Security page, then switch it on. Everyday activity still only ever goes to email; this is reserved for the handful of events where missing it could genuinely cost you.
What changed
Optional text alerts add another way to notice a small set of important account events. The feature focuses on suspension, a failed payment or the end of a free trial, where a missed email could delay action.
The distinction is intentional: text is reserved for critical account events. It is not a second stream of messages for every booking, dashboard change or routine email.
Before and after
Before this update: These account notices reached you by email, so spotting them depended on checking the mailbox associated with your account.
With this update: You can verify a phone number on Security and enable critical text alerts as an additional channel. The setting starts switched off.
What it means for you
Choose a number you can reliably receive messages on, complete verification and then enable the option. Treat an alert as a prompt to check the account and resolve the underlying issue in the dashboard.
Enabling texts does not change your subscription or resolve a failed payment automatically. Everyday activity remains on email, and leaving the option off keeps the existing email-based experience.
