Starting a free trial from our site sent you to a plain sign-in instead

If you clicked “Start free trial” or “Subscribe” anywhere on our website, the page you landed on looked correct — the right heading, the right tab selected, the right button — but pressing the button quietly asked for an ordinary sign-in rather than a signup. Your chosen plan, your billing period and the terms you had just accepted were not passed on with it.

The effect was that a new customer could not start a trial from that page. Anyone who got through it anyway would have arrived without their plan or their acceptance recorded, and been asked to accept the policies again before the dashboard would open.

It is fixed. All three routes — sign in, free trial and subscribe — now carry exactly what they should, and we have added a check that reads what the page actually sends so this cannot come back unnoticed. The page looked entirely healthy while it was wrong, which is why nothing caught it sooner.

Two smaller things on the same page: the plan menu was cutting off its own text on desktop, so you could not read the full name of the plan you were choosing, and the filter buttons on this news page were rendering as plain rectangles instead of the rounded chips they should be. Both are corrected.
